Home insurance, or homeowners insurance, is an insurance policy that combines insurance on the home, its contents, loss of use (additional living expenses) and, often, the other personal possessions of the homeowner, as well as liability insurance for accidents that may happen at the home.The cost of homeowners insurance scales upward depending on what it would cost to replace the house, and which additional "riders", meaning additional items to be insured, are attached to the policy. The insurance policy itself is a lengthy contract, and names what will and what will not be paid in the case of various events. Typically, claims are ''not'' paid due to earthquakes, floods, "Act of God|Acts of God", or war (whose definition typically includes a nuclear explosion from any source). Special insurance can be purchased for these possibilities, including flood insurance and earthquake insurance.Most insurers charge less if it appears less likely the home will be damaged or destro! yed: for example, if the house is situated next to a fire engine|fire station, or if the house is equipped with fire sprinklers and fire alarms.In the United States, most home buyers borrow money in the form of a mortgage, and the mortgage lender always requires that the buyer purchase homeowners insurance as a condition of the loan, in order to protect the bank if the home were to be destroyed. Anyone with an insurable interest in the property should be listed on the policy.

Annuity


The term annuity (from Latin ''annus'', a year), in current use in the insurance industry, refers to two very different types of legal contracts with very different purposes. Traditionally, for at least four hundred years, the term annuity referred to what is more correctly called today an ''immediate annuity''. This is an insurance policy which makes a series of either level or fluctuating periodical payments, made annually, or at more frequent intervals, either for a fixed term of years, or during the continuance of a given life, or a combination of lives. The overarching characteristic of the immediate annuity is that it is a vehicle for distributing savings. A common use for an immediate annuity might be to provide a pension income to a person who is about to retire.

Zauschneria (''Epilobium canum'') is a species of Epilobium|willowherb, native to dry slopes and in chaparral of western North America. It is a perennial plant, notable for the profusion of bright scarlet flowers in late summer and autumn. The name reflects that in the past it used to be treated in a distinct genus ''Zauschneria'', but modern studies have shown that it is best placed within the genus ''Epilobium''. Other common names include California-fuchsia (from the resemblance of the flowers to those of Fuchsias), hummingbird flower, and hummingbird trumpet (the flowers are very attractive to hummingbirds).It is a subshrub growing to 60 cm tall. Native populations of these plants exhibit considerable variation in appearance and habit. The small leaf|leaves may be opposite or alternate, lance-shaped or ovate, with short to nonexistent stalks, and range in color from green to nearly white. Overall shape may be matting or mounding, the plants commonly spreading via rhizom! es. The racemes of tubular or funnel-shaped flowers are terminal, and colors are mostly reddish, ranging from fuchsia to pink to red-orange.The wide degree of variation has led to the description of many subspecies, mostly no longer recognised as distinct due to the extansive intergradation between them; the following are still recognised:

Cultivation


As befits their origin, they prefer to be cultivated in well-drained soil exposed to full sun but protected from the wind, and need little watering.A small number of hybrid cultivars have been introduced by various growers, in some cases by working from isolated populations, such as those on Santa Cruz Island off the California coast.The plant is named after Johann Baptista Josef Zauschner (1737-1799), a professor of medicine and botany in Prague.

Exploring downtempo/chill-out for the past 2 years, I was knocked out by Boozoo Bajou's cut on this genre.Juke Joint is a terrific cross sample of their take on blues, jazz, 60's, reggae, you name it.It all flows together extremely well.Their other two CD's, Satta and Remixes, are also excellent.Satta is definitely more mellow, while Remixes is a bit more soulfull and perhaps the more upbeat of the 3.I love them all, but Juke Joint is very special, indeed.Give it a try.

Baijiu


Baijiu () or Shaojiu is potent Chinese alcohol most common in northern China, especially in Manchuria and the area around Beijing and Tianjin. The name "Baijiu" literally means "white alcohol" or "white spirits". Chinese often mistakenly translate the word as "white wine", but it is not a wine.Baijiu is a clear alcohol usually distilled from sorghum, although sometimes other grains may be used. In appearance it is similar to Russian vodka, Japanese sake, or Korean soju, yet its flavour is distinctive and unique. Baijiu is generally about 80 to 120 proof (40-60% pure alcohol), making it a potent (and sometimes dangerous) spirit.Chinese serve baijiu either warm or at room temperature in a small ceramic bottle. They then pour the baijiu into small cups. Baijiu may be purchased as a set of items consisting of bottles of baijiu, a small heater, and four to six small cups. The serving method and containers are similar to those which are used to serve sake and soju, although as a ! drink baijiu differs greatly from the latter two beverages.

Robert M. Parker, Jr. (born July 23, 1947) is an influential wine critic from the United States.Parker was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He is an honors graduate of the University of Maryland, College Park, with a major in History, and a minor in Art History. He continued his education at University of Maryland, Baltimore, graduating in 1973 with a Juris Doctor degree. For over ten years he was an attorney for the Farm Credit Banks of Baltimore; he resigned in March 1984 to devote full attention to writing about wine.By 1975, he began to think about writing about wine and starting an independent, consumer's guide. At that time, few wine writers or reviewers were not involved in the wine trade, and Parker felt their opinions were compromised by conflicts of interest. Parker wanted to be a consumer advocate, unencumbered by the need to sell wine. By 1978, Parker had started ''The Wine Advocate''; its first issue was complimentary, sent to those on mailing lists purchased from! several major wine retailers. The magazine had 600 charter subscribers in August 1978. Parker received worldwide attention when he "called" the 1982 vintage in Bordeaux as superb, contrary to the opinions of many other critics who felt it was too low-acid and ripe. The debate about whether 1982 is a vintage for the ages continues through the early 2000s, but the wine market appears to have spoken, elevating prices for 1982 Bordeaux above other vintages from the period.Now, over twenty years later, ''The Wine Advocate'' has over 40,000 subscribers, in every state in the United States, and in over 37 foreign countries. Today, many knowledgeable observers agrees that ''The Wine Advocate'' exerts the most significant influence on the serious wine consumer's buying habits and trends not only in America, but in France, England, Switzerland, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Russia, Mexico, Brazil, and China.In addition to doing the writing and tasting for ''The Wine Advocate'', which is! published bi-monthly in Parkton, Maryland, Mr. Parker has bee! n a cont ributing editor for ''Food and Wine Magazine''. He has also written periodically for the English magazine ''The Field'' and has been the wine critic for France's ''L'Express'' magazine, the first time a non-Frenchman has held this position.
